Items waiting to be Blessed at Mass on Wed., April 5, 2017

As of this date, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church has given away close to 400 knitted or crocheted shawls and lap robes since we began in November, 2010. St. Monica's later began a separate ministry of their own, so their numbers are not reflected in this total, or it would be even more.

Every week we come together to knit or crochet with one another, praying for those who receive our creations and for each other. Anyone is welcome to join us. Every item is blessed by our priest or deacon before it goes out. Ours primarily go to the ill or grieving to offer solace, comfort and peace.

While we will celebrate seven years in 2017, they will be celebrating 19 years! Since then it has spread to church congregations all over the USA and elsewhere in the world.
